Stress isn’t just unpleasant — it’s dangerous. Medical research shows chronic stress raises cortisol, weakens immunity, and increases risks of heart disease, burnout, anxiety, even immune-related illnesses.
That’s why Doctor’s Orders Travel exists. We craft cruise and Disney itineraries especially for families and travelers with special needs—ensuring relaxation, seamless logistics, and emotional support.
What we do:
Meticulous planning to reduce tension (transport, accommodations, accessibility)
On-call assistance so nothing is left to chance
Mindful pacing to prevent overstimulation
Your prescription: Leave stress ashore. Enjoy your vacation—because your health deserves it.
Growing up, I was fortunate to have a family that valued travel. Even during tough times—like the 2008 recession—they always found a way to make at least one vacation happen each year. Those experiences shaped my love for exploring the world, and as I grew into adulthood, I knew I wanted to keep that tradition alive.
While in college, I was diagnosed with autism. For the first time, I began to understand that the sensory sensitivities and constant overstimulation I had always experienced weren’t just part of everyday life for everyone—they were part of my neurodivergence. I spent countless hours learning what that meant for me and how I could adapt. I realized it wasn’t that I couldn’t do the things I loved—it just meant I had to do them a little differently.
I thought I had figured things out—until a sudden health crisis changed everything. After months of medical testing, appointments, and uncertainty, I was diagnosed with a rare genetic neurological and musculoskeletal disorder. At one point, I wondered if I’d ever be able to travel again—how could I explore the world when even cooking dinner felt impossible?
But with time, determination, and physical therapy, I found a new normal. And when I was ready to travel again, I faced a mountain of planning, accommodations, and accessibility concerns. I remember thinking, How could the average family—especially one with a member who has special needs—possibly navigate all of this? The truth is, many can’t. That realization lit a fire in me.
Doctor’s Orders Travel was born from my lived experiences—of joy, frustration, growth, and healing. My mission is simple: to make the inaccessible accessible. I help families like mine plan cruise vacations, Disney getaways, and special needs travel with compassion, care, and firsthand knowledge. Everyone deserves a vacation. I’m here to help you take yours—without the stress.
